·         Faculty Advisor, Nebraska Student Chapter of National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Construction Management Team (2002 - Present). The student team has placed fifth in 2002 (Las Vegas, NV) and won “Rookie of the Year” award in this competition. Winning provided the teams with scholarships
·         Coach for the Heavy/ Highway student management competitions at the Associated Schools of Construction Region V Conference and Competition (February 2000).  Team placed third in their region.
·         Speaker for the University of Nebraska Bright Lights program that introduced high school students to construction and how if affects their daily lives (July 30, 2002).
·         Faculty Computer Assistance, Student Competitions -- Heavy Highway and Commercial.  Associated Schools of Construction Region V Conference in Nebraska City, NE (February 1997).
·         Faculty Advisor, Texas A&M Student Chapter of National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Construction Management Marathon Team (1992 - 1996). The student team has placed second in 1993 (Las Vegas, NV) and second in 1994 (Houston, TX) in the NAHB’s competition. Provided the competing teams that placed with scholarships.

·         Faculty Advisor, Texas A&M Student Chapter of NAHB Greater Houston Builders Association Playhouse Competition in Houston, Texas (1992 - 1995).  The student chapter team has placed 1st in 1992, 3rd in 1993, 1st in 1994, and second in 1995. The competition has provided students with a total of 24 scholarships.
·         Faculty Advisor and Participant, Texas A&M University student chapters of NAHB, AGC and ABC community services and funding raising activities.  These included weekend community service for Habitat for Humanity, Phoebes Home for Battered Women, and Brazos Valley Medical Center in College Station and Bryan, Texas (1992-1996).  Fund raising included joint efforts between the clubs to construct a playhouse for auction and to sponsor fajita and burger dinners during semester terms at the College of Architecture.

        Project scheduling procedures that included computer applications and resource leveling, project cost control techniques, reporting systems and material expediting.

        Cooperative teaching of a graduate course.  Provided computer aided construction documents for development of the formation and use of construction contracts including subcontracts and purchase orders, the conditions of contract and their use as implements of performance of the contract; practicing with the contract from bid process through completion.

Engineered Wood Systems:  Contemporary Construction Applications. Sponsored by the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE (May 11, 1997; February 22, 1999, February 6, 2002).  Southern Forest Products Association presentation and review of engineered wood systems.
World Wide Web Introduction on its Uses and Application in the Mechanical Industry.  Sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in Omaha, Nebraska (October 9, 1997).  Taught the practical mechanical applications on the Internet.  Presentation given at the October meeting of the Nebraska Chapter of  (ASHRAE).
Workshop for the NCARB Uniform Architect Registration Exam (A.R.E.).  Sponsored by the Department of Architecture at Texas A&M University (May 1995-96):  College Station, TX.  Presented design and application concepts for energy, lighting, acoustical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.  Reviewed also were fire safe building designs.
Habitat for Humanity.  In cooperation with Texas A&M University and Blinn College (May-August, 1994): College Station, TX.  Taught local high-risk high school students basic construction techniques and leadership skills needed for advancement in today’s society. Job required not only training the students at the site but also partial supervision of Habitat’s construction work forces for student educational training.

3/85 - 5/91  President/Owner, Trinity Construction. - Bryan, TX.  Contracted commercial, residential, and park construction in the Bryan/College Station, TX area. Beginning in 1991, the company changed from contracting to project management consulting.
4/84 - 3/85  Project Manager/Estimator,  Twin City Development - Bryan, TX.  Estimated and scheduled commercial and residential  construction projects.  Also managed construction work forces, expedited materials, and controlled costs for each construction project.
5/83 - 4/84  Commercial Carpenter,  Lawless & Snider - Austin, TX. Duties included concrete forms, window installations, door and hardware installations, rough framing, and interior finishes.
1/80 - 5/83  Carpenter, Fine Homes, LTD. - College Station, TX.  Duties included framing, trim carpentry, cabinets construction, building repair, and building maintenance for residential and commercial projects.
