Lifetime Achievement Awards will be made to individuals who have made significant contributions to construction education. The Board of Directors shall select the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Criteria include service to ASC, excellence in teaching, and exceptional service to the construction industry. This award includes complimentary conference registration, compensation for travel to the annual conference, and a plaque.

National Teaching Award

The Associated Schools of Construction National Teaching Award is made annually to a faculty member of a four-year ASC member school. This award recognizes the faculty member's contribution to construction education, excellence in teaching, and dedication to the construction profession.

Eligibility

Any non-tenured, tenure track faculty member with a minimum two years teaching experience from an Associated Schools of Construction member-school.

Application/ Nominations

A faculty member may be nominated by students, colleagues, him/herself or any other person familiar with the faculty member's qualifications.

Screening and Award

Every member school can submit applicants per the requirements listed in the operating procedures. Applications should be sent directly to the regional director 5 days prior to the scheduled regional meeting. This award is not limited to one per region.

Outstanding Educator Award

The Associated Schools of Construction Outstanding Educator Award is made annually to a faculty member of a four-year ASC member school. This award recognizes the faculty member's contribution to construction education, excellence in teaching, service to the Associated Schools of Construction and dedication to the construction profession.

Eligibility

Any current full-time faculty member with a minimum of 7 years teaching experience from an Associated Schools of Construction member school.

Nominations

A faculty member may be nominated by students, colleagues, him/herself or any other person familiar with the faculty member's qualifications. All nominations shall be forwarded to the respective Regional Director.

Screening and Award

Each region can forward only one name from that respective region. Each nomination for this award shall be forwarded to the respective Regional Director 5 days prior to the regional meeting, with complete package per operating procedures. A decision will be made at the regional meeting regarding which nomination to advance. Via vote, or other consensus measuring mechanism, this single name should be forwarded by the Regional Director from that respective region to the President of the ASC within 5 days following the regional meeting.

The Board, upon receipt of the recommendations from the Regional Directors, considers each nominee for designation as an Outstanding Educator. The Associated Schools of Construction Board of Directors will receive and review all nominations. The award recipient(s) will be announced at the ASC annual conference in April.
